DESCRIPTION

The Assistant Director, who reports directly to the Administrative Perioperative Director is responsible and accountable for the clinical and management functions of the Ambulatory Surgical Center.  The Assistant Director evaluates the performance and effectiveness of staff with establishing an environment where both staff and patients are able to reach their full potential. Facilitates and coordinates the daily operating room schedule and staffing assignments, delegates the responsibility for equipment and instrumentation for efficient case turnover, assures the readiness of the operating rooms for the next day’s surgeries, the development of leadership and preceptor staff and to be responsible for the adherence of clinical standards and procedures for the safe patient care.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education: A Bachelors’ degree in nursing required. A Masters’ degree preferred.
2. Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in nursing required and in a clinical leadership or Management role. Strong orthopedic surgical background required. Work experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center preferred.

4. Licensure: NYS RN License
5. Other: A strong customer service orientation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Clinical expertise as well as knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft office, EPIC and other clinical programs as applicable.
