Magda Fulman, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Fulman is a Clinical Pharmacy Manager and the PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program Director at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. Prior to joining Montefiore Nyack Hospital, she was an Internal Medicine Clinical Coordinator and served as the PGY-1Pharmacy Practice Residency Program Director and Preceptor at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in NY. Dr. Fulman takes special interest in educating patients and students, serving as a preceptor from multiple schools of pharmacy. Dr. Fulman is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy and received her Doctor of Pharmacy at the St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in NY. She completed an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at LIJMC.
Daryl Schiller, MS, PharmD, BCPS AQ-ID
Dr. Schiller oversees clinical and operational activities as the Pharmacy Director at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. He previously held the position of Assistant Director for Clinical Services and PGY-1 Residency Program Director at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ where he was also the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Infectious Diseases and Burn Trauma. He has been involved with numerous professional organizations at both the local and national levels including serving as President of the New Jersey Society of Health-System Pharmacists, a member of the ASHP Council on Therapeutics, a delegate in the ASHP House of Delegates, and a question writer for the Board of Pharmacy Specialists BCPS exam. He is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy with Added Qualifications in Infectious Diseases. Dr. Schiller has 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals and numerous conference presentations including being an invited lecturer at national conferences as well as many regional pharmacy-, medicine-, and nursing based meetings. He received BS and MS degrees in pharmacology and immunology fron SUNY Buffalo and a Doctorate in Pharmacy from Long Island University followed by a residency in Infectious Diseases at the James J Peters Bronx VA Medical Center. Under his direction, the Pharmacy Department at Montefiore Nyack Hospital has made great strides in expanding clinical pharmacy services as well as controlled substance and other medication safety processes.
Benoni Commodore, R.Ph, B.S.
Mr. Commodore is the Manager of Pharmacy Operations at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. He is a vital part in initiating operational changes facilitating efficient workflow within the department and throughout the organization. He serves as an Adjunct Experiential Faculty for Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in NY. Mr. Commodore takes an active role in precepting pharmacy students from different pharmacy schools for IPPE/APPE rotations. He also partners with the local adult education center as an instructor for pharmacy technician licensing course. He is a passionate advocate of adult immunizations and multiple outreach programs within the community. Prior to joining Montefiore Nyack Hospital in 2006, Mr. Commodore had experience working in a variety of settings including long term care, consulting, retail and home infusion. Mr. Commodore graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana. He also received a certification in Management Development from Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
Kelly Chan, PharmD, BCPS
Kelly Chan, PharmD holds the position of Clinical Staff Pharmacist at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University at Buffalo, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. Prior to joining Montefiore Nyack Hospital in 2014, Dr. Chan worked at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Queens, NY. She specializes in critical care and is actively involved in promoting adult immunization, inpatient medication reconciliation, and patient education.
Emmanuel Knight, PharmD, BCPS, BCGP
Dr. Knight is the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for transitions of care at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. Dr. Knight earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 2011 from the University at Buffalo majoring in biological sciences with a concentration in pharmacology/toxicology. He later received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Touro College of Pharmacy in June 2015 and afterwards completed one year of postgraduate training in pharmacy academia as a Postdoctoral Academic Fellow. In this position he learned how to effectively teach graduate level students, earned a teaching certificate, and received training in academic pharmacy administration. After completion of his fellowship, Dr. Knight completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. Dr. Knight is currently board certified in pharmacotherapy and is a board certified geriatric pharmacist.
Gaurav Bajaj, PharmD
Dr. Bajaj is an Informatics Pharmacist at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. Dr. Bajaj received his Doctor of Pharmacy in 2010 at the Long Island University Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy in NY. He started working at Montefiore Nyack Hospital in 2011 as a Staff Pharmacist and transitioned into the field of Health Informatics. He has acquired Pharmacy Informatics Certification from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Dr. Bajaj is involved in the development and maintenance of evidence based clinical order sets and the computerized order entry system. He enjoys mentoring students in the field of Pharmacy Informatics.
Dr. Nirvana Awad has earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in May 2017 from St. John's University. Throughout her academic career she has gained experience in medication therapy management, performing monthly medication reviews for nursing homes, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize patients' medication therapy. Her professional interests include ambulatory care and oncology, and she takes special interest in participating in research.
