Valentine J. Burroughs, MD, MBA, CHCQM, FABQAURP

Valentine J. Burroughs, MD, is a board certified endocrinologist with Highland Medical, P.C. He specializes in Diabetes and Metabolism and serves as Director of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism for Highland Medical, P.C., and Montefiore Nyack Hospital.

Prior to joining Highland Medical, P.C., Dr. Burroughs was a practicing endocrinologist with Essen Medical Associates, a large multispecialty medical group in the Bronx, NY. He was also a Dane Street Medical Review Panel Specialist, Senior Medical Advisor for Health Power for Minorities LLC and an Editor of Health Power Men’s Health Channel.

Dr. Burroughs was both an instructor and assistant professor of Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and most recently an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. At East Orange General Hospital in East Orange, NJ, Dr. Burroughs held a number of high-level positions, including Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director of Family Health Center/Ambulatory Care and Chief Physician Utilization Advisor.

Dr. Burroughs received his medical doctorate from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He completed his residency at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons at Harlem Hospital in New York, NY and his fellowship in Endocrinology & Metabolism at New York University in New York, NY. He also received an Executive MBA from the University of Tennessee Business School.

He is Certified in Health Care Quality Management and a Fellow of the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians.
