New Chief Nursing Officer Joins Montefiore Nyack Hospital

March 23, 2016: Montefiore Nyack Hospital welcomes Renee Mauriello, RN, MSN, NEA-BC, as Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer. As a key member of Hospital administration, Renee will be providing senior leadership to the Hospital Nursing Staff, with an emphasis on driving nursing excellence and performance improvement.

Renee will play an integral role by providing strategic oversight of the Nursing Staff across the Hospital’s continuum of care and working collaboratively with Hospital Medical Staff and administrators to ensure that Montefiore Nyack Hospital provides the highest quality of patient centered care,” said Dr. Mark Geller, President and CEO, Montefiore Nyack Hospital. 

Renee joins Montefiore Nyack Hospital from Norwalk Hospital, a 328-bed, not-for-profit, acute care community teaching hospital in Norwalk, Connecticut, where she served as Vice President, Patient Care Services.  


At Norwalk Hospital, she provided overall leadership and direction to 700 full-time employees and performed all aspects of clinical and administrative functions within the nursing department, patient relations, and bed board. Prior to Norwalk Hospital, Renee was Vice President, Patient Care Services for Catholic Health Services (CHS) of Long Island, Inc., Mercy Medical Center, in Rockville Center, NY. She helped achieve the ANCC Pathway to Excellence Designation in 2012 at CHS and in 2014 at Norwalk Hospital.

Renee is a Registered Nurse in New York and Connecticut, received certification as an ANCC Nurse Executive Advanced, NEA-BC July 2015. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE).
