September 12, 2017: On Friday, October 27, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., The Breast Center at Montefiore Nyack Hospital will offer free breast exams, mammography, and if needed, pelvic exams with PAP tests for women ages 40 and over with no insurance or who are underinsured. Robbie Kempner, MD, FACS, surgeon and medical director of Breast and Women’s Health Services along with other breast health professionals will be performing the breast exams. The screenings are funded by The New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Cancer Prevention and Control, Capital One Bank and Montefiore Nyack Hospital.

The Breast Center at Montefiore Nyack Hospital offers 3D digital mammography which can detect up to 41% more invasive breast cancers. The Center continually performs in the 99th percentile of achieving patient satisfaction and results released by the 2014 Commission on Cancer show Montefiore Nyack Hospital with higher performance rates in breast cancer care than the national standards. The Breast Center at Montefiore Nyack Hospital has once again been granted a three-year/Full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons. In addition, the Center has been designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
