Barry S. Zingman, MD  (He, Him, His) 

Dr. Zingman is the medical director of the AIDS Center at Montefiore Medical Center, the largest multidisciplinary and multispecialty adult HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention program in New York State. He’s also an attending physician at The Jacobs Family Pride Wellness Center in Nyack, NY, and a professor of clinical medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY. Dr. Zingman’s career is devoted to the care of people living with HIV and those at risk, including LGBTQ+ populations, people of color and those at risk for sexually transmitted infections.

Caryn Weiss, ANP-BC, MSN, MPA, AAHIVS (She, Her, Hers)

Caryn Weiss is an adult care nurse practitioner at the Montefiore Oval Center and Center for Positive Living. She specializes in LGBTQ+ healthcare, HIV prevention and care for people living with HIV. Caryn earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at City University’s Lehman College in Bronx, NY, and her master’s degree in public administration at New York University. She completed training as an adult nurse practitioner, receiving a master’s degree in nursing at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx. Her clinical experiences included rotations at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City at the height of the HIV epidemic. Caryn’s clinical interest includes working with the LGBTQ+ community to provide the best possible care with no bias or judgment and to encourage open and honest discussions between patient and provider. 

Samantha Fleischman

Samantha Fleischman, MSN, FNP-BC (She, Her, Hers)

Samantha is a registered family nurse practitioner specializing in women's health. She has extensive experience delivering holistic primary care, sexual health care for adults, and LGBTQ+  and gender-affirming care. Samantha earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from      Columbia University School of Nursing. She is also a certified crisis counselor and licensed massage therapist. As an educator and clinical professional, Samantha is known for a compassionate, informed approach to supporting patient understanding and empowerment of their health. 

 

Alex Nadler, BSN, RN (He/Him or They/Them)

Alex Nadler, BSN, RN is the Clinical Registered Nurse Coordinator for The Jacobs Family Pride Wellness Center of Montefiore Nyack Hospital. They earned their Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Middle Tennessee State University. Alex has provided care to patients in a variety of settings from bedside nursing in telemetry to crisis counseling for the national Suicide Prevention Lifeline. His background in behavioral health has influenced his patient centered approach to nursing. As a transgender person himself, Alex is committed to providing a welcoming and affirming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals to access medical care. 

Samantha FleischmanJustin Toro, LMSW (He/Him/EI) 

Justin Toro, LMSW, is the Associate Director of Sexual Health and LGBTQ Services for the Montefiore AIDS Center, overseeing the Oval Center at Montefiore Medical Cetner in the Bronx. Justin is also the Interim Practice Manager for the Jacobs Family Pride Wellness Center of Montefiore Nyack Hospital and has been with the hospital for almost 15 years. Justin has the honor of sitting on the Board of Directors for the Latino Commission on AIDS in Manhattan, NY, which is the longest servicing Latino AIDS organization in New York and for the LGBTQ+ youth service organization, Out My Closet, Inc., providing clothing pop up clothing boutiques for homeless LGBTQ youth. Justin received his Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Old Westbury and his Master of Social Work from CUNY, Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College.

Carlos Roman

Carlos Roman (He/Him/EI)

Carlos Roman is the Health Educator and Patient Navigator at the Jacobs Family Pride Wellness Center of Montefiore Nyack Hospital, where he has been since the center’s official launch in November 2021. Through his work at the Pride Wellness Center, Carlos has served the LGBTQ+ community in promoting health and wellness through education, patient support, community engagement, and addressing the various factors that influence health outcomes. Carlos graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in African Studies. A Latinx and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Carlos, helps establish linkages to community-based organizations to find available resources while addressing social determinants of health to reduce barriers to care that influence health outcomes.
