Special Virtual Event featuring Playwright and Actor Lillian Isabella

Primordial, a new theatrical play from playwright and actor Lillian Isabella, is one of the first verbatim documentary theatre plays centering on pregnancy and childbirth. In the past 25 years, there have been less than five productions on this topic in New York City. Primordial initiates a necessary conversation, based on interviews with many diverse birthing individuals, celebrating a wide range of intimate experiences. The play deals directly with pregnancy, childbirth, patient advocacy, birth without violence, birth equity, and other related topics from the birthing person’s perspective.

Lillian Isabella is a Cuban-American playwright and actor. Her plays have been produced and developed in New York City at The Tank, Cherry Lane Theatre, Metropolitan Playhouse, NYC Fringe Fest, Nuyorican Poets Café and the United Nations. She grew up in the Bronx, NY and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts.
