Campaigns Recognized with Gold Communicator Awards

Montefiore Nyack Hospital has received Gold Awards of Excellence for three marketing campaigns in 2021 from The Communicator Awards. With over 6,000 entries from across the US and worldwide, The Communicators Awards is the largest and most competitive honoring creative excellence for communication professionals.

The campaigns include a COVID-19 Community PSA and a COVID-19 Patient Safety Campaign designed by the Hospital's agency GMLV and a COVID-19 Conqueror campaign created in-house with artwork from NYC Artist Jayson Naylor and the support of Trish Geller. The COVID-19 Conqueror campaign served to recognize those patients who beat COVID and were discharged and to lift up the spirits of our team, who fought courageously to save lives during the pandemic.

“We are delighted to have these campaigns recognized as our marketing team executed them within a short period to support the community, our patients, and team during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Montefiore Nyack Hospital President and CEO, Mark Geller, MD. “Their purpose was significant during a difficult time where education and information were so necessary.”

The PSA campaign focused on community education that reinforced hand washing and infection prevention. Patient Safety highlighted the protocols taken to reassure patients that it was safe to seek medical care as many were hesitant to maintain their health appointments and treatments during the height of the pandemic. And, the COVID-19 Conqueror campaign, which featured custom “Here Comes the Sun” artwork, celebrated patient triumphs over the disease offering hope to patients, families and the team at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. This multi-faceted campaign included posters and signage displayed throughout the Hospital, branded T-shirts worn by staff, and a giant sun painted on the drive to the main entrance, offering hope to all who entered the Hospital. As patients were discharged or removed from a ventilator, the Beatles song “Here Comes the Sun,” was played over the Hospital’s loudspeaker, instilling a sense of achievement during a very dark period. The campaign culminated in a celebration to recognize the 500th COVID-19 patient discharged from the Hospital.
