Visitor Guidelines

Our visiting policies continue to evolve based on COVID-19 infection rates in our community and other considerations. On this page, you'll always find the most current information. For those who aren’t able to see a patient in person, we offer virtual visits and other ways to connect with loved ones and friends who are in our hospital.

Guidelines for in-Person Visits (effective March 11, 2022)

Visitors must be age 12 and up. Overnight visitors must be age 18 and up.

Ambulatory Surgery + Outpatient Areas: Patients having outpatient or ambulatory procedures will be given a COVID-19 test five days before the procedure date. They may have two visitors accompany them through the admission process. Visitors can wait for the patient in designated family waiting areas while wearing a mask and adhering to social distancing guidelines.

Behavioral Health: Scheduled visitation hours are 1 to 2 pm and 7:30 to 8:30 pm. Please contact the Social Work Department at 845-348-8357 or the Nursing Station at 845-348-7360 to schedule an appointment.

Emergency Department: Except for confirmed or suspected COVID-19 patients, two support people are allowed per day, 24/7.

Inpatient: No more than two visitors at one time from 9 am-9 pm for non-COVID-19 or COVID-19 recovered patients. One visitor permitted during overnight hours.

Labor and Delivery: Two visitors and a doula may accompany the patient throughout labor, delivery and the immediate postpartum period.

Mother Baby Unit: One support person permitted 24/7 with two additional visitors permitted during visiting hours.

Pediatric Unit: Two (2) support persons may be at the bedside of the child through their hospitalization.

Transitional Care Unit: Recommended visitation between 11 am and 7 pm. Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. A negative COVID test within 24 hours of visit is recommended.

In end-of-life situations, patients may have two support persons or legal representatives at their bedside.

Guidelines for Permitted Visitors

Thank you in advance for reviewing and complying with our visitor guidelines:

  • All visitors must undergo symptom and temperature checks as they enter.
  • Do not come if you’re exhibiting any symptoms or feel ill.
  • In accordance with New York State Department of Health Guidelines, masks must be worn correctly at all times. We ask that all visitors practice rigorous hand hygiene.
  • Visitors are welcome to safely visit our gift shop, cafeteria, chapel and bikur cholim room. Mask wearing and social distancing guidelines remain. Please note, visitors are not permitted to eat or drink in patient care areas.
  • Visitors who do not adhere to the above guidelines will be asked to leave.
