Understanding Our Fees

Thank you for trusting us with your care! Understanding your charges should be easy and straightforward, so we’ve gathered the information you might need in one place. If you don’t have questions and are ready to pay your bill, we’ve made it convenient to pay online.

If you have any questions about billing, please email us at: BillingQuestions@montefiorenyack.org

Montefiore Nyack Hospital complies with laws requiring hospitals to maintain a list of fees for every service and procedure they offer and to make that list available upon request. For a list of Montefiore Nyack Hospital’s fees, please click here.

Patient Responsibility

Patients are responsible for all hospital fees on the date services are provided. These fees may include deductibles, co-payments and co-insurance. If the exact dollar amount of any service has not been determined, you’ll be asked to pay an estimated amount and will be billed for the balance, if necessary. Upon discharge, your insurance company will be invoiced for services provided. See a list of the insurance companies we work with.

Payment in full will be requested for any services that aren’t covered by your insurance. Montefiore Nyack Hospital accepts cash, checks and all major credit cards. We appreciate your cooperation with our payment policies.

Healthcare Professional Fees

Montefiore Nyack Hospital will bill you for the cost of services involved in your care, such as room and board, support staff, supplies and medications. You may also receive separate bills for services received at Montefiore Nyack Hospital from providers who have contributed to your care, such as anesthesiologists, pathologists, oncologists or other specialists.

Be sure to verify which providers participate in your plan with your insurance company.

You may also receive a separate bill from doctors who are affiliated with Montefiore Nyack Hospital but have private practices. Read more about hospital and professional fees.

Medicaid Application Assistance

Montefiore Nyack Hospital gladly assists patients and families with Medicaid applications. In-hospital patients will be visited by a financial counselor who will help you start the application process. Follow-up appointments with financial counselors can also be scheduled after you’re discharged.

Auto-Related Injuries

If you’re injured in an automobile accident, you’re required to notify your automobile insurance carrier as soon as possible. Your carrier will assign a claim number and an adjuster to handle your claim. New York State regulations require all claims be filed within 45 days of the date of service. It’s important that you provide all available information to the Admitting Department.

Work-Related Injuries

All work-related injuries must be reported to your employer. Your employer will provide you with a claim number, and the name and address of their Worker’s Compensation Carrier. Please provide this information upon registration.
