Subaru of America, Inc. and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Deliver Warmth and Hope to Cancer Patients Through the Subaru Loves to Care ® Program
Nyack, N. Y., June 10, 2025 – At Montefiore Nyack Hospital, a day of treatment transformed into a day of hope, comfort, and connection thanks to Subaru of America, Inc. and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). Individuals undergoing treatment at The Infusion Center at Montefiore Nyack Hospital received warm blankets and comfort kits from representatives of Subaru and LLS. This annual initiative, the Subaru Loves to Care ® campaign, aims to bring hope, warmth, and a personal touch to those battling cancer.
This year’s effort included popular social media influencers and cancer awareness advocates Tia Stokes and Jelien Ramos, who personally handed out the gifts and spent time offering encouragement to patients and their families. By sharing their own experiences with cancer and recovery, they lifted spirits and reminded everyone in the room that community support and human connection are vital parts of healing.
The Subaru Loves to Care® program has delivered over 300,000 blankets and more than 50,000 arts and crafts kits to patients nationwide since its inception in 2015. The collaboration between Subaru and LLS exemplifies a commitment to not only fighting cancer through research and advocacy but also ensuring that patients feel seen, valued, and supported throughout their treatment journey.
Subaru, LLS, and supporters like Tia Stokes and Jelien Ramos, who lead with their hearts, continue to demonstrate that a small gesture of kindness can provide not only physical warmth but emotional strength to those facing some of life’s toughest battles. In addition to donating and delivering blankets, messages of hope, and care kits, participating Subaru retailers are also contributing to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Urgent Need Pediatric, Adolescent and Young Adult Fund. Alongside these contributions from retailers, Subaru will match donations made through LLS. org during Subaru Loves to Care from June 1 to June 30, 2025, up to $100,000. The fund provides financial assistance to young blood cancer patients and their families to help with non-medical related expenses, including groceries, transportation, housing, and more.

About Jelien Ramos
In July 2018, Jelien Ramos began showing unexplained symptoms, including persistent bruising and slow-healing cuts. By November, she was experiencing recurring fevers without other signs of illness. Initial medical advice suggested alternating between Motrin and Tylenol, but concerns continued to grow. In January 2019, Jelien was officially diagnosed with leukemia. Surrounded by her family at the hospital, her mother received the life-altering news with shock and heartbreak. Jelien began a two-year treatment protocol, which included port placement and a lumbar puncture as early steps in her care. Her treatment plan evolved as needed based on how she responded to each stage. Jelien courageously completed treatment in April 2021. She continues to do well in follow-up care and remains an inspiration to those around her.

The talented dancer, who danced throughout the ordeal, is the founder of the charity hip-hop dance troupe Kalamity and owner of a dance studio called The Vault in St. George, Utah. She now has 2.6 million fans on TikTok and more than one million followers on Instagram.
